I’ve found there are two types of people when it comes to email marketing. The person who loves it and the person who hates it. Why the extreme emotion? I believe it’s directly related to the personal success one has with it.

If you spend the time growing your email list, nurturing their subscribers, and consistently sending educational and promotional emails, you will find more success and make money from your efforts.

On the flip side, if you barely use email marketing, don’t focus on growing your list, and infrequently send emails to your subscribers, well, you’re far less likely to see a return on your investment.

Today, I want to share my insight on email marketing and why I recommend you start including email marketing into your strategy (like yesterday!) with simple ways to get started.

1. Email marketing is dead.

Okay. First things first. We have to address this falsehood. Email marketing is far from dead.

To put it in perspective, the ROI on email marketing is higher than any other form of marketing (for every $1 spent, you can expect a $36 return).

Not to mention, regularly and consistently emailing your list can help you build relationships. People buy from people. They buy from brands they know, like, and trust.

When your subscribers hear from you often, you will remain at the forefront of their minds, nurture those relationships and build strong connections.

So is email marketing dead? Far from it!

2. Does it matter how many subscribers you have?

It doesn’t matter if you have 50 subscribers or 5000 subscribers. It can be easy to fall into the trap of worrying about numbers. But to be honest, the number of subscribers you have doesn’t matter.

The best thing you can do is just start. Start building your list. Start consistently sending out emails, and nurture the subscribers you do have. Think of your email list as your hottest leads. Even if you have 10 subscribers – those people actively decided to sign up to hear from you. They want to be a part of your world. By nurturing those subscribers, you can easily turn them into your next 10 clients!

3. Someone unsubscribed? Who cares!

Another concern I hear often is, “what if someone unsubscribes or doesn’t engage with my emails?” What you want most is engagement. You want your list to consist of ideal clients that actively engage with your content:

  • Open your emails
  • Click your buttons
  • Reply to your CTAs
  • Buy your services

If someone unsubscribes, it just means they weren’t your ideal client. It’s better to have them unsubscribe than stay on your list and bring your email marketing stats down for lack of engagement.

4. Why I believe emails marketing is so powerful

I believe in email marketing because I see it work in my business. Email marketing is where the MONEY IS. I contribute 50% of my monthly revenue to email marketing alone.

50%! That’s half my monthly revenue. That’s HUGE!

So when I say you should prioritize your email marketing, I’m speaking from real-time experience. Don’t neglect your list – make it a priority! When you see the return on investment, you will have wished you had started sooner.
