Running a business means you have to get cozy with hitting a lot of income ceilings. Often over, and over, and over again.

Every big stretch and price bump in your business comes with new challenges and a whole new set of skills you have to learn if you want to continue growing.

I see so many coaches and consultants get to a certain point in their business– and then hit a wall because they’re not sure how to take things to the next level.

If that’s something you’re struggling with, here are 3 shifts you can make in your business to start seeing significant growth:

1. Find a way to believe that it can be done.

It’s easy to get discouraged when you’ve been stuck in the same place for a while, but it’s important to remember that your current circumstances are not permanent.

You can and will break through if you just keep taking consistent future-focused action and believe that it’s possible. Future-focused actions for growth look very different than what you are doing now, or have done in the past (otherwise you wouldn’t be stuck!) Self-belief and self-trust are crucial if you want to see any real growth in your business.

2. Raise your standards.

The quality of your work, clients, and offers will always determine the quality of your results. If you’re not happy with where you’re at, take a look at the things you’re settling for and commit to raising your standards.

Making a new level of money requires a new way of thinking. This is the time to refresh your business. Take a look at the following and see where you can make some changes:

  • Your messaging
  • Your offers + services
  • Your branding
  • Your website
  • Your thought leader content
  • Your marketing strategy

Marketing is often the biggest one. Traditional techniques only work for so long. There comes a time when you’ll need to focus on A) what kind of marketing brings you joy and B) what kind of marketing your audience responds to.

Narrowing down where you spend your time and energy will free up a lot of space for new opportunities to come in. We are a global leader in helping coaches and consultants determine YOUR best way to market. Take the Content Personalityâ„¢ Quiz here

3. Get comfortable with change.

The biggest barrier to growth is often fear, and more specifically, fear of change. If you’re not willing to shift your mindset, strategies, or approach, you’ll never be able to take your business to the next level.

In order to grow, you have to be willing to let go of the things that are no longer working. This might mean changing your entire business model or the way you market yourself online. Be open to trying new things and see what sticks.
